Mary Davis, Liz’s widowed mother has returned to Paris and made peace with the past, but now she struggles with conflicted feelings about the two men in her life—Parisian Jean-Marc, the first love who’s never forgotten her and Luca Santo, the Italian who’s introduced Mary to new adventures.

Liz Davis’s carefully constructed world—and her engagement to Jeffrey Scott—have already begun to crumble when an unexpected phone call summons Liz to her mother’s side in Florence, Italy.

Together again, Mary and Liz strive to resolve the turmoil between them and the men they love. Does the very thing their hearts long for most await them in the fabled hills of Tuscany?

I enjoyed these first two books-but not sure if I will read the third one or not.
This one was more religious based as religion was more at the forefront of this second story, allot of drama going on with the characters, I was surprised by one of them-Mary that ended up falling in love with someone else-I was sad about that and also that Mary did not come out with her feelings first-I hoped she felt guilty about that.
I also felt that the author must have toured this area as very detailed descriptions of the areas in Italy.
all ended up well in the end

I connected with Mary and Liz in the first book and couldn't wait to read more. I love the characters, the life lessons.
Stephanie Grace Whitson never disappoints! She makes me fall in love with each character. In this book she took me along with her characters to Paris and Tuscany. Well done!
You should read "A Garden in Paris" first. This is the sequel and it was a wonderful journey with Mary and her friends and family. Like her first book, it twists and turns, but God's grace is evident in all the pages. Mary is now living in Paris, but her daughter Elizabeth is in Omaha taking care of the business and the estate. It all culminates in everyone meeting up in Florence, Italy. I don't want to spoil the story, it's for the reader to enjoy from beginning to end. I know this is the last book in the series, but I wish Stephanie Grace Whitson would continue with more about this family. I love reading about families, friends, enchanting places and beautiful homes and scenery and especially about God's great love and grace toward us. Thank you to the writer for giving me several hours of pure joy.
An enjoyable read, but felt overly dramatic as relational issues were worked out. More of the focus was on people, although the setting added to the book. Faith and learning to trust God was the backdrop for the story, a life lesson that is ongoing. The cinnamon rolls that are featured for comfort food had my mouth watering for the recipe.
This was a wonderful sequel full of twists and turns, and settling unresolved plots in the previous book. Stephanie Grace Whitson weaves an amazing tale of God's grace and goodness. Her dialogue is smooth and her character development realistic.
Although a life if financial independence is hard for the average reader to imagine, the struggles the characters deal with are very real. The end of their redemption story is very satisfying and comforting. Sometimes as a reader I feel like I need more story when the book is finished, but with this story I felt quite complete and satisfied.
I really enjoyed this series! This is the second of three books and I am enjoying the journey I am taking with this family of characters. They are growing in the Lord as the books progress and you see their inner struggles and humanity. The book keeps you guessing as well and that is frustrating and refreshing at the same time. I love the imagery in this series because the last two books are mainly in Europe and I feel like I am there eating in the cafes and walking in the city. Great series!
